Rochas Foundation College @ 25Former DG, Amb. Nonye Rajis-Okpara MFR pen down an emotional goodwill message.

GOODWILL MESSAGE

ROCHAS FOUNDATION COLLEGE AT 25

Celebrating 25 Years of Transforming Lives Through Education.

The Founder and President of the Rochas Foundation, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Anayo Rochas Okorocha;

The Vice President, Mrs. Nkechi Rochas Okorocha, PhD;

Distinguished Members of the Board of Trustees;
The Director-General;

The Management and Staff of Rochas Foundation Colleges;

Our Esteemed Guests, Parents and Guardians;

Our Partners, Friends and Well-wishers of the Foundation;

And, most importantly, my dear students, past and present, the pride and purpose of this great Foundation.
Although I am unable to be physically present with you on this momentous occasion, I join you in spirit with immense joy, profound gratitude and a heart filled with pride.

I write not merely as a well-wisher, but as someone who had the privilege of walking this journey with the Rochas Foundation family for more than fifteen years. I am deeply honoured to share in this historic celebration and to express my appreciation to the Board, Management, staff, alumni and, most especially, the students who continue to give life and meaning to this remarkable vision.

TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF LIGHT

Twenty-five years ago, in Imo State, a bold vision was born.
It was a vision that challenged conventional thinking: to provide comprehensive, quality and completely free education to orphans and children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

To some, it may have sounded too ambitious. To others, perhaps even impossible.

But today, twenty-five years later, that vision has grown into a formidable institution whose impact extends across Nigeria and beyond.

Thousands of children have passed through the doors of Rochas Foundation Colleges, receiving not only education, but also hope, dignity, character and an opportunity to build better futures. With the establishment of Rochas Foundation College of Africa, the vision has expanded even further, bringing together young people from different African nations to learn, grow and live as one family.

A Silver Jubilee represents more than the passage of time. It represents endurance, maturity, impact and legacy.
At twenty-five, Rochas Foundation College has moved beyond being an experiment or an ambitious idea. It has become a demonstrated model of what is possible when compassion is matched with vision, commitment and action.

Every child who has passed through these institutions represents a life redirected and a future reclaimed.

A child who might otherwise have been condemned to life on the streets has become a graduate. A young person who might have been deprived of opportunity has become a professional, entrepreneur, community leader or responsible citizen.

When multiplied across thousands of lives, the significance becomes enormous.

This is the true measure of the Rochas Foundation legacy.

Education remains one of the most powerful investments any society can make. It breaks cycles of poverty, strengthens families, develops human capital, creates opportunities and builds responsible citizens.

For twenty-five years, the Rochas Foundation has made that investment in children who might otherwise have been left behind, giving them access to quality education without asking them to pay a single kobo.

A TRIBUTE TO OUR FOUNDER AND DADDY

No celebration of this magnitude would be complete without paying special tribute to the man whose vision, courage and determination gave birth to this extraordinary journey: our Founder and President, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Anayo Rochas Okorocha.

Your Excellency, many people possess resources, but not everyone possesses the heart to deploy those resources for the transformation of others.

Many speak passionately about the plight of the poor, but very few translate that concern into institutions that create lasting opportunities.

You saw what many others did not see: that talent is evenly distributed, but opportunity is not.

And you made the decision to bridge that gap.

Having worked closely with you for more than fifteen years, I had the privilege of witnessing aspects of this journey that the public may never fully see.

I witnessed the sacrifices, personal, emotional and financial. I witnessed the difficult decisions, the long nights and the relentless pursuit of the Foundation's mission. I saw your joy when a child succeeded and your concern whenever resources were stretched.

Through it all, one thing remained constant: your commitment to the cause of giving disadvantaged children a future.

Sir, you have been a source of help to the helpless and a voice for the voiceless. You gave orphans a place to learn, grow and dream. You gave children from disadvantaged backgrounds a seat at the table of opportunity.

Most importantly, you demonstrated that giving back to society is not merely an act of charity; it is an investment in humanity and an act of nation-building.

Your vision of twenty-five years ago has become today's harvest.

And I have no doubt that generations yet unborn will continue to benefit from the seeds you planted.

On behalf of every child whose life has been touched and transformed by the Rochas Foundation, I say:

Thank you, Daddy Dearest. Thank you, Your Excellency.

May history remember this vision with honour, and may the thousands of lives transformed through it remain a lasting testament to your legacy.

TO THE BOARD, MANAGEMENT AND STAFF

A great vision, no matter how inspiring, requires committed people to sustain it.

To the Board of Trustees, I express my sincere appreciation for your wisdom, guidance and stewardship. You have helped preserve the integrity of the Foundation's mission and kept the vision firmly on course.

To the Management, thank you for the enormous responsibility of translating vision into daily reality. Managing institutions that provide quality education on a completely free basis and at this scale requires exceptional dedication, discipline and sacrifice.

To our teachers and staff, you are among the true heroes of this story.

You have been teachers, counsellors, mentors, disciplinarians and, for many of our students, surrogate parents.

Your patience has shaped character.

Your sacrifices have created opportunities.

Your commitment has helped build futures.

The success of the Rochas Foundation is, in many ways, written in your dedication and hard work.

To our partners, friends and well-wishers, thank you for standing with the Foundation over the years. Your support, encouragement and contributions have helped sustain a vision whose impact will continue long after us.

A CHARGE TO OUR STUDENTS

And now, to my dear students:

You are the reason we celebrate. You are the evidence that this vision works.

Never forget where you came from, but never allow your background to determine the limits of where you can go.

Your background is not your boundary.

The opportunity you have received is both a privilege and a responsibility. Use it wisely.

Study diligently.

Be disciplined.

Be honest.

Respect your teachers.

Respect one another.

And above all, develop the character to match the education you have received.

To our students from across Africa, you represent something even greater. You are living evidence that our continent can come together, learn together and build a shared future.

Carry the friendships and bonds you have formed here across your nations. Build bridges. Promote understanding. And remember that Africa's future belongs to a generation that sees beyond borders.

To Rochas Foundation College, Owerri, Imo State, our first college, and to the pioneering students who began this journey, I offer my heartfelt congratulations.

You were the first to believe. You were the first to walk this path. And you have given generations that followed a foundation upon which to build.

I wish to specially recognise our pioneer Head Girl, Barr. (Mrs.) Augusta O. Emmanuel, a distinguished lawyer and proud mother, and our pioneer Head Boy, Engr. Kingsley Okechukwu Ogbu.

Your accomplishments embody the possibilities that this Foundation has always represented.

To the many other alumni who have distinguished themselves in their chosen professions and endeavours, we celebrate you.

You have demonstrated that the Rochas Foundation experience is more than an educational programme. It is a transformative journey; a divine mandate and a great cause dedicated to changing lives.

A MESSAGE TO OUR ALUMNI

To our alumni, wherever you may be; in classrooms, boardrooms, businesses, professional institutions, communities or public service, the world is watching.

Let your character, integrity and conduct speak well of the Foundation that invested in you.

And when you rise, as I believe many of you will, remember to reach back and lift another child.

That is the Rochas Foundation spirit.

That is how a legacy is sustained.

That is how one light becomes thousands of lights.

And that is how the impact of this Foundation will continue for the next twenty-five years and for generations to come.

LOOKING AHEAD

Twenty-five years is a remarkable milestone, but it is not the finish line.

Across Nigeria and Africa, millions of children still face barriers to quality education and opportunity.

Therefore, let this Silver Jubilee not only be a celebration of what has been achieved, but also a renewed commitment to what remains to be done.

May the next twenty-five years bring even greater reach, deeper impact and more transformed lives.

It was one of the greatest privileges of my life to serve the Rochas Foundation as Director-General for more than fifteen years.

The experience shaped me, enriched me and gave me the opportunity to witness firsthand the transformative power of education and compassion.

I remain, now and always, a proud member of the Rochas Foundation family.

To our Founder and President, the Board of Trustees, Management, teachers, staff, partners, parents, alumni and, most importantly, our students:

Congratulations on twenty-five remarkable years of transforming lives through education.

May God continue to bless the Rochas Foundation, strengthen its leadership, empower its people and expand its reach.

May the light that was kindled twenty-five years ago continue to shine brightly across Nigeria, Africa and the world.

Happy 25th Anniversary to Rochas Foundation College!

Thank you, and God bless you all, as we continue the noble mission of reaching out, restoring hope and touching lives.

Sallah Celebration: Alh. Dauda Ismail Mameh (AKA Chamama), Convener, Sabiticket Movement Delivers Social Welfare Support to FCT Beneficiaries

As part of activities marking the Sallah celebration and in a demonstration of compassion and community support, the Convener of the Sabiticket Movement, Alhaji Dauda Ismail Mameh, popularly known as Chamama, has distributed bags of rice and other relief items to beneficiaries across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The outreach initiative, which attracted beneficiaries from different communities within the FCT, was aimed at easing the burden on families and ensuring that many households could celebrate the festive season with joy and dignity.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Alhaji Dauda Ismail Mameh emphasized the importance of sharing with others, especially during festive periods such as Sallah, which promote values of sacrifice, love, unity, and kindness. He noted that extending support to vulnerable individuals and families remains an important responsibility for leaders and well-meaning members of society.
According to him, the Sabiticket Movement is committed to promoting humanitarian values and supporting initiatives that positively impact the lives of ordinary citizens. He added that the movement will continue to engage in people-oriented programs designed to bring hope and improve living conditions within communities.

Beneficiaries who received rice and other items expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful amid prevailing economic realities. Many commended Chamama for remembering the people and putting smiles on the faces of numerous families during the celebration period.
The National Coordinator of the movement, Mr Eric Osigbeme hinted that the distribution exercise further reflects the growing role of community-driven initiatives and philanthropic efforts in supporting social welfare and strengthening the bond among citizens by His Excellency, Alh Dauda Ismail Mameh.

As Muslims across Nigeria and beyond celebrate Sallah, the gesture by the Sabiticket Movement stands as a reminder of the values of generosity, compassion, and service to humanity that the season represents.

#MUSIC: Richie Music Empire Premieres Madi Kid [Qing Madi’s] “My Way,” Visual, This Signals a New Era for Her Catalog

Richie Music Empire Premieres Madi Kid [Qing Madi’s] “My Way,” Visual, This Signals a New Era for Her Catalog

The latest visual offering from Richie Music Empire has continued to stir conversations across the Nigerian music industry following the official premiere of the music video for “My Way,” one of the standout records originally released under the Madi Kid brand, now known professionally as Qing Madi.

The official music video, which premiered on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, marks another strategic move by the label as it fulfills its earlier commitment to release all unreleased and pending projects recorded during Qing Madi’s time with the label under the Madi Kid identity. The song features Don Richie, the Chief Executive Officer of Richie Music Empire, while acclaimed producer Rhaffy handled the production.

“My Way” arrives amid lingering industry controversy surrounding Qing Madi’s unannounced departure from Richie Music Empire, a development that sparked widespread speculation within entertainment circles. Following her exit, the singer briefly aligned with Jtown Records before reports later surfaced confirming her separation from the label as well, leaving fans closely monitoring the next phase of her career.

Despite the circumstances surrounding her exit, Richie Music Empire appears determined to preserve and maximize the value of the artist’s earlier catalogue. Industry observers have described the release strategy as both commercially calculated and emotionally symbolic, considering the growing public interest in Qing Madi’s artistic journey and label history.

The “My Way” music video presents a polished blend of Afro-fusion aesthetics, emotionally driven storytelling, and contemporary Nigerian visual culture, further reinforcing the chemistry between Qing Madi and Don Richie on the record. Since its premiere, the project has generated increasing engagement across streaming and social media platforms, with supporters praising both the visual direction and the song’s melodic composition.

Sources close to the label maintain that additional records and visuals created during Qing Madi’s tenure as Madi Kid are still scheduled for release in the coming months, in line with Richie Music Empire’s earlier public assurances. The label has consistently maintained that all projects legally recorded and produced during her contractual period remain part of its active catalogue.

As conversations continue around artist-label relationships within the Nigerian entertainment industry, the release of “My Way” further highlights the complexities surrounding ownership, branding, and continuity in modern African music business structures.

For many fans, however, the focus remains on the music itself — and with “My Way,” Richie Music Empire may have delivered one of the most talked-about post-departure releases currently shaping the Afrobeats conversation.

#EndSARS Protest: Court Orders CBN To Unfreeze Promoters’ Accounts

 A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to unfreeze the bank accounts of 20 #EndSARS promoters in Nigeria.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed gave the ruling following the agreement reached by parties in the suit to amicably resolve the matter.

The Judge while commending counsel to the CBN, Mr Michael Andoaka, and lawyer to the defendants, Mr. Femi Falana, ruled that “all processes filed in respect of the case are hereby deemed to have been withdrawn.”

Justice Mohammed then, set aside the November 4, 2020 order and ordered that all the accounts of the affected persons “be immediately defreezed.”

The CBN, in an exparte motion, had prayed the court to freeze the bank accounts of Bolatito Rachael Oduala and 19 others who participated in last year’s protest to end police brutality in the country.

The apex bank said it took the action to investigate the promoters of the protest on allegations bordering on terrorism financing, among others.

Meeting between President Buhari and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan

The Presidency has released the details of the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and his predecessor, former President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

In a statement on Tuesday by the Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina said former President and ECOWAS special envoy, Jonathan briefed the President on Mali crisis.

Adesina added that Jonathan told President Buhari that the country’s main opposition group, M5, demanded the resignation of President Ibrahim Keita. He said ECOWAS also rejected the demands of the opposition group.

“Dr Jonathan, who is ECOWAS Special Envoy to the Republic of Mali, briefed on the political situation in the West African country, as corollary to efforts by West African leaders to restore stability to the country.

“President Buhari and four other ECOWAS leaders had visited Bamako, Mali, last month, followed by a virtual extraordinary summit of the sub-regional body.

“Dr Jonathan, who was in Mali from Monday to Thursday, last week, recounted his meetings with the stakeholders, including political and religious leaders, Ambassadors of US, France, Russia, Germany, European Union, and other important personalities key to peace and cohesion in the country.

“The main opposition group, M5, he said, continued to insist on the resignation of President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, a position not acceptable to ECOWAS, which insisted only on democratic process in change of power within its jurisdiction.”
